BlogRecent News: RECORDING - SESSION FOUR:So, I\'m celebrating another awesome night of makin hits!! :) Once again, with the help of misters Kirby & Boulos, there are some pretty great tracks sitting in the can. One of the highlights of my evening, was actually producing Chris ... I somehow talked him in to delivering a couple of his stellar ideas, himself ... Impressive, hey?? I mean, we all know how shy he is about stuff like that!!March 30, 2010, 4:12:45 pm UTC RECORDING - SESSION THREE:I am one extremely happy camper at the moment ... I actually started having second thoughts about 3 of the songs originally slated to be included in the project. Tonight, we decided to take two of the three and work on them - maybe change the arrangements &/or take them in new directions. A truly awesome & rewarding exercise, as now, two of the songs on the verge of being cut from the album, are, hands down, my two favorites!! \'Hats off\' to my co-producer ( Chris Kirby ) & my recording engineer ( John Boulos ) ... They both delivered some fantastic ideas, ultimately responsible for saving those two tracks. Alrighty, you know the drill ... Stay tuned ... Next session, I\'ll be adding some rhythm guitar to these new bed tracks!!March 30, 2010, 4:07:23 pm UTC RECORDING - SESSION TWO:Not much to report about this session ... This was one of those rare occasions where the initial approach to the songs has not been altered, so it was rather quick & painless :) I\'m happy to report that after an hour and a half ( including a break ) the rhythm tracks for the first 4 are now put to bed and sleeping safe & sound ... Certainly showed up with my game face on!! Stay tuned ... New bed tracks being recorded next session!!March 30, 2010, 4:06:02 pm UTC RECORDING - SESSION ONE:We spent the first portion of the session getting comfy in the space, nailing down some good tones & sounds for the instruments & talkin through the song structures. For those of you unfamiliar with the process, recording a cd is a lot like putting together a musical puzzle ... Typically, you start with the bass & drums ( bed tracks ) and add the other instruments & parts later, piece by piece. So, the goal for this session was to complete the beds for 3 songs. By quittin time however, we had surpassed the initial goal & had the beds for 4 songs in the can!!Stay tuned for my next update & some pics from the next session - Where Ill be adding guitar to those 4 beds & making sure everythings in the pocket & soundin the way it should!!
